Amy is a Columbus native that has played a vital role in moving Columbus forward over the last decade. Amy rose through the ranks at the Greater Columbus, Georgia Chamber of Commerce to become the youngest Executive Vice President in its history, putting Amy at the forefront of the initiative to attract and retain dynamic young talent to the Columbus area. Under Amy’s leadership the Young Professionals program grew to more than 700 members and continues to be a conduit for rising leaders to get involved in all facets of Columbus making it a more attractive place for young professionals to live, work and play.
Additionally, Amy was responsible for the Chamber’s Leadership Development programming along with all major events and the overall membership of the organization. In 2021, Amy left her 13 year career at the Chamber to further her leadership by serving as Chief Executive Officer at Direct Services, a Regional non-profit that serves the elderly and disabled.
Amy’s commitment to Columbus goes well beyond her job. She is involved on the Mayor’s Commission for Unity Diversity & Prosperity, has served on the MLK Day event planning committee, is an active volunteer with multiple non-profits and serves on the Hope Harbour Board of Directors, and the Library Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley and was most recently appointed to the Meals on Wheels of Georgia Board of Directors. She was recognizedas a top five under 40 leaders in the community by Columbus and the Valley Magazine and two years prior was noted as a rising star. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a
Public Relations degree.
Since her arrival at Direct Services, she has examined the organization from the inside-out, seeking wisdom from both Board and Staff Members who have long tenures. She has brought new ideas and systems that have made for stronger programs and a more cohesive organization that ultimately will benefit the seniors that are served. Amy believes that the programming of Direct Services is vital in giving seniors and the disabled an opportunity to stay within their home for as long as safe.
She knows that the services are more than just a meal but a relationship that some clients wouldn’t have otherwise. Amy is married to small business owner and they have a seven-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son.
